Elvis always lovingly and with true admiration refered to Joe Esposito as "Gentleman Joe". In the 35 years that I have known him, Joe has continued to conduct himself in that fashion. You only need to read his latest book to get a true understanding of who Joe is, and a clearer picture of who Elvis and his friends and lovers were, and what life with the King involved. I love you, Joe....thanks for being a true friend to me and to Elvis....even today.
- Linda Thompson, Elvis' girlfriend and confidant, 1972-1976
Loved the book. Joe tells the truth about Elvis's colleagues and friends.
- Patti Parry, close friend of Elvis' since the early sixties
In "Elvis Straight Up" Joe gives a realistic look at Elvis and those around him. Thanks, Joe, for having the courage to be truthful and giving those "on the outside" real information, not just supposition. For fans who are tired of fictionalized stories and sugar-coated variations, this is the book to read. Be informed by one who knows.
- Loanne Parker, Mrs. Colonel Tom Parker, manager of Elvis Presley
I am really impressed with how good this book is. Joe has outdone himself again with Elvis Straight Up. I really learned a lot of things that I never knew about. Thank you for clearing them up.
- Betty Gorvadian
I love it! What a great read. I am happy that Joe finally cleared up what happened with the Raquetball lawsuit. I also appreciated you telling us that Col. Parker really cared and fought for Elvis in the end. The photos brought a lot of tears.

Joe, I got my book today and started reading it right away. I am very impressed by how you guys did this book. It was completely different than I thought it would be. I think a lot of people owe you guys an apology with what they thought this book was about when you first announced it.

To Joe: You are deserving of praise for publishing your memories of one remarkable individual. You had a front seat to everything in those days and I admire your perseverance and tenacity in keeping Elvis' spirit alive and well...Elvis may have left the building, but never our hearts! I finished the book the day I received it and felt that I had a front row seat (which I did at many concerts) to his innermost love for a man we'll miss forever. Thank God for his music. Blessings Joe!
Thank you Joe, Pat Morrison
I received the book and I am reading it. It is a very honest and blunt book. It is clear you are telling your story and giving events just as they happened. I think this is one of the most revealing and truthful accounts ever written.

Hello, I would like to order the second volume of Elvis Straight Up. I have read the first edition and I think it along with Remember Elvis is the best books I have read on Elvis and believe you me I have read a lot of books on him. I believe Joe is the best on writing about Elvis after all they were together for a long time and I know Joe would not tell anything on Elvis that was not true just to sell his book. I have been a fan of Elvis every since I was a young child and I had the privelage to see Elvis in Concert in 1976 & 1977 and received one of his scarfs. I have understood Elvis all my life and I know his life was not easy because of the special God given talent he had. I am just thankful for the 42 years God allowed us to have him here on earth to share his talents with us and his heart of gold. No he was not perfect but he never said he was and I think the book of Elvis What Happened which I bought when it went on sale and I still have it in my collection was meant to hurt Elvis from his own family. They knew what it would do to him once he read it he was a sensitive and caring person and I'm sure they wish a million times over they never wrote it. Please let me know how I can order the second volumne of Elvis Straight Up.
- thank you, Anne Hodges
Joe, I don't really have a question. When I first read about your book, Elvis Straight Up, I thought OH NO, NOT ANOTHER BOOK. I did however purchase it, and I am enjoying it so much, I can't wait for Vol. 2. Finally, someone who is willing to tell us the way it was. The human side of Elvis told with dignity, grace and respect. Thank you, Joe for continuing to TCB. Elvis would be proud. God bless you!
Mary
